Donald McGregor

November 7, 1953 — October 14, 2025

Donald McGregor, 71yrs. Old, passed away peacefully, with family surrounding him, on October 14,2025. Born November 7, 1953, He was survived by his daughter Holly, (Shaun), son Daniel, adopted daughter Lydia Johnston (Leon) adopted grandchildren Felicity (Tanner) and Amara, his two sisters Janice McGregor, and Susan Weeks and two brothers Gary (Cristina) and Doug (Debbie) and his ex-wife Carolyn Middleton as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Don lived a full and wonderful life from beginning to end and touched many lives along the way.

He was a loving and understanding man. He would know how you were feeling before you told him. He would have understood what this loss feels likes as he had lost his parents Juanita Reid, Douglas Ross McGregor and Andy Reid. Also, his sisters Carol Hodgson, Carol Demchuk (Susie) and Debbie Pattison, along with other friends and family over the years.

As a young boy Don was a mischievous little blond boy who loved playing and watching sports. He was loyal to his family and very protective of his sisters. He took on responsibilities at a young age becoming the man of the house when their father left but always knew how to have fun. He carried these qualities into adulthood with him.

Don was a loving husband and father but as anyone had ups and downs when it came to his relationships. He unfortunately was divorced from his wife but went on to care for his daughter Holly. Through the years he tried to have a relationship with his son Daniel but was not successful. He put all his focus into raising his beautiful daughter.

Don has made many connections in Saskatchewan but will never forget his connections to friends and family out east in Ontario, and New Brunswick. He reconnected with his ex-wife in Saskatchewan and for the past several years they were great companions taking care of one another and building a stronger relationship with their daughter. He also managed to "adopt" another daughter (Lydia Johnston) along the way, which included adopted grandchildren (Felicity and Amara). They would all celebrate holidays together and he would always remind all the children how important family was, whether is was blood relations or chosen family. His closest friend Leanne was always there for him to talk to or if he needed a helping hand or a drinking buddy to have a couple cold ones with.

Don was young at heart but wise and full of experience and knowledge which he shared with the younger generations. He always had words of encouragement, and was never shy to correct you if he thought you were wrong. He was empathetic, compassionate, loving and would go without to ensure the ones he loved were taken care of. He will be missed deeply by all of the people he made connections with.

We invite those who knew him to come and celebrate his life on November 1, 2025 at 1pm. There will be a service at Westwood Funeral Home in Saskatoon and lunch to follow. His interment will be on another day chosen by family at Woodlawn cemetery.
