Eva Welch

With sorrow, the family of Eva "Eve" Welch (nee Goy) announce her passing May 9, 2025. Mom passed peacefully surrounded by her children.

Mom was born February 16, 1930, in Wakaw, SK to her parents Louis and Annie Goy. Mom lived on the family farm near Tway, SK with her parents and siblings, John and Iris. After completing her schooling, Mom attended Park City Business College in Prince Albert later returning to work at the RM office in Crystal Springs. On October 21, 1951, she married Richard "Dick" Welch. After a brief stint in Toronto, they returned to Saskatchewan and made their home in Saskatoon where they raised their family.

Mom is lovingly remembered by her children Dave (Helen) Welch, granddaughters Erynn (Roger) Marshall and Kathy (Ryan) Kretschmer, great-grandsons Carter and Brooks; Bev (Yves) Bertrand, granddaughters Lindsay Bertrand, great-grandson Morgan, Nadine Genest, great-grandson Corbin, grandson Keith Bertrand (Trista Gavin), great-grand children Ayden, Jayla, and Jersey; Perry (Laurie) Welch, granddaughters Ashley (Alex) Murphy, great-grandchildren Abigail, Declan and Kipton, Shayna (Bryce) Loewen, great-granddaughter Livia, Jenna (Trent) Gettel, great-grandchildren Kayden and Brielle; her sister Iris (Ivan) Jukic, their family Lorri Ann Jukic, Michael (Georgette) Jukic and their children Jadyn and Tayler; and, sisters-in-law Carole Thoms and Shirley-Anne Welch. Mom is also remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews both near and far. Mom was predeceased by her husband Dick in 2003, by her parents, her brother and several of Dick's siblings and their spouses.

Mom graced us with her patience, kindness, warmth, and a great love for her family. Her love will always be with us. The family will hold a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eve's memory may be made to the Saskatchewan CNIB.
