Jerry Bereza

September 19, 1946 — January 13, 2025

Jerry passed away with Mar by his side January 13, 2025 in the perfect, peaceful haven of the Hospice at Glengarda.

Jerry was raised and educated in the King George area of Saskatoon. He attended King George School and Bedford Road Collegiate. (More interested in football than academics.)

His work history varied over the years and he eventually retired from Dairy Producers/Saputo, where he was employed for many years. After retirement, he joined the drivers at Enterprise Car Rentals and enjoyed his time there, but it ended in 2020 when the pandemic started.

Over the years Jerry was involved in sports. The top of his list was watching Kris play hockey and compete in BMX events. He spent time coaching hockey, umping baseball, old timers hockey, bowling and golf.

He was always a Montreal Canadiens fan and still sports a Montreal Expos hat. Then of course came darts. Anavets Club was a special place to play. Traveling around the province to tournaments was fun. We met a lot of good people in the "dart world". But I guess Jerry's biggest passion was riding his 1997 Honda Shadow Motorcycle. He loved his bike and all the road trips he made with his friends.

Jerry's biker name was "Crash" (go figure). However, that era ended as his health declined.

I know there are folks who remember the "younger" Jerry who was a bit of a "hot head" with a touch of "attitude", but the "older" Jerry definitely mellowed with age and circumstance.

His battle with cancer was really tough but through it all he never ever complained.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Sylwester, and his brother John.

Jerry is survived by his loving partner, Mar; his son, Kris of Saskatoon; his daughter, Jana of Edmonton; sister-in-law, Doreen of LaRonge. Also, his extended family with Mar; Albert and Christine (Ryan and Courtney) Quinn, Madden, Sloan; Leon (daughter, Melanie); Jan (Coralie and Robin) Calla and Nathaniel (Curtis and Kelly), Matthew, Brielle - who shared a birthday with Jer; Georgina Joynt of Brandon and Bud Haycock of Red Deer.
