WAGNER, Mary Gladys

We are saddened to announce the passing of Mary Gladys (Pizuto) Wagner on September 26, 2025 at the age of 93. She is survived by her daughter Joanne Parkman, son Ron Wagner (Louise), daughter Karen Marcyzk (Roman), four grandchildren (Rachel, Roslyn, Bonnie, Lorie), and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Fortunata Pizuto, her husband Kenneth Wagner, and siblings Teresa Berzolla, Josephine Joly, Frank Pizzuto, Rose Arnold, and Jean Cappadocia.

Mary was born in Saskatoon in 1931. After attending St. Mary's School and the Technical Collegiate, she worked at Adilman's Department Store, Eaton's, and CN Telecommunications, where she worked on a teletype machine. Mary was also a longtime member of the congregation at St. Mary's Parish.

She enjoyed bowling, curling, golfing, and watching movies but her passion was music. Mary was a talented violinist and a gifted singer. She always spoke fondly of being a member of the choir at St. Mary's School where she sang at Mass and at weddings. She took years of vocal lessons and won awards for her singing. Even after her days in the choir were done, Mary still loved singing along to the radio or television or with a grandchild playing the piano. Mary suffered from dementia in her last years but, remarkably, even when she could no longer recognize the people closest to her, she still loved to sing and could remember all of the melodies and words.

The family would like to thank Simona's Home and St. Ann's Nursing Home for the excellent care that they provided to Mary during her last years.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Mary's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Saskatchewan. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mary on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 1:30 pm at St. Anne's Parish (217 :Lenore Dr.)
