Roy was born February 8,1954 in Rose Valley Saskatchewan , he grew up in Yellowquill First Nation and later moved to Saskatoon and then to Edmonton in 2004 and live there since. Roy loved his children very much and was always generous and gave us advice when we needed it , he helped guide us to do better for ourselves and try to be good people in life and always to do the right thing no matter what, he gave us inspiration to speak up for ourselves and to always believe in God and to follow God , he had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh , he was very social and was very generous to anybody and would help strangers if he could. Roy was known to give homeless people money a lot of times and even if his friends needed food or help with anything he would help and even volunteer his kids for the tasks to help others , he went to church and always talked about how much he loved God and followed him and took Candice and her children to church with him. Roy loved his grandchildren more than his own kids but that was not a faulty that was a blessing I always thought because my kids got to see the better side of him and he was a positive influence in their and our lives. Not saying there wasn't a good childhood but the person the grandkids got to see as their grandpa was a way better person than he was a father and no blame was placed on him for that because there had been a lot of family issues and a lot of poverty in the family growing up and thankful that his grandchildren never had to see any of that because he was sober and living a healthy lifestyle and loved God and always spoke about God to his grandchildren, his kids and his friends and spread the word to anyone who would listen. He would always watch on TV about God stuff in fact when he was found in his home, there was a program about God on the TV. He had a custom bible and he always gave his family crosses to wear and always tried to encourage his family and anyone who would listen to follow God. Roy didn't like to cause any drama or stress on anyone and he was always there when someone needed him , He was an inspiration to others for the person he was and of how to overcome poverty and try live in a peaceful way and tried to guide his family and he did. He taught his family a lot about having a better life and wanted his family to do good as it is very difficult in our family but he never gave up on them and for that they will always thank God he gave them their dad and the time they had with him. Candice is happy God gave her the time she had with Roy before and he was called home and I will be forever indebted to God for that. Inspired her to want to live a better life and follow God as well because good things always happens to us because my dad always told us that and my dad was right.
