It is with great sadness, and humble acceptance of our creators will, Russell Dumont, aged 83, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025 in the presence of family and his wife Mary.Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, to Ernest and Lucie Dumont. Russell grew up in St Laurent/Duck Lake SK in a large loving family of 8 children. He was taught values, faith, unconditional love and a work ethic to guide him throughout his life.This foundation brought forth the kindness, loyalty and quiet strength everyone around him felt and that made his family very proud.

Russell is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Mary of 45 years, with whom he shared a life built on partnership, laughter, and unwavering love and support.He is also survived by his stepchildren Rick (Sheila), Randy (Colleen), and Cheryl, who held a special place in his heart.He was a proud grandfather to Scott, Brad, Micaela, Rena, Shayne, Jenna, Lonnie,Ricki and Matthew and a delighted great‑grandfather to Kade. Russell embraced this role with sincerity and trust, forming an everlasting bond of love and respect.He is also survived and loved by his one remaining sister Thelma Harder, numerous nieces and nephews, family and friendswith special mention of nieces Danielle and Autumn of which he enjoyed many visits. Russell cherished his family, and we cherished the way he made each one of us feel valued.

He was predeceased by his loving Parents Ernest and Lucie, sister Bernice, brothers Martin, Ronald, Lucien, Arsene, Bob and stepson Terry.Russell loved his country, his culture and proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces alongside his brother Bob from 1959 to 1967, A period of his young life, that shaped his character and instilled loyalties he carried with him always. His service in Europe found him far away from home and family.

Russell lived a life defined by hard work and dedication. He began his career as a roofer, a trade that reflected his resilience and commitment.Together with Mary, they later owned and operated the gas station and convenience store in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan, he was a familiar and friendly face to countless community members.Their shared entrepreneurial spirit continued as they went on to own and operate personal care homes in both Duck Lake and Saskatoon, providing comfort and dignity to those in their care.

A naturally social person, Russell loved gathering with friends for coffee, conversation, and a chance to "shoot the breeze."He enjoyed hockey, both as a fan and as someone who appreciated the camaraderie and spirit of the game.His humor, calm presence, and genuine kindness made him someone people gravitated toward.steady, loving, and always ready with a smile, laugh or a light‑hearted remark.

As we mourn his passing we are thankful for the life of our tall, kind, handsome Russell.He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his love, humor, and calm presence just a few things that make him unforgettable. We will carry these values and memories forward in our lives with love and gratitude.To honor Russell's legacy, a service will be held summer 2026, with details to be announced at a later date.Family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well lived and a man deeply loved.
